First things first, although these aren’t the most complicated bets, once you know what you are doing, they are tricky. I’d recommend always skipping over this type of bonus if you are still getting to grips with match betting and come back to it at a later date.
This type of bet doesn’t allow us to bet on a single outcome and instead requires a bet on multiples in order to attain the bonus. This means, for example, that we need to bet on two football matches and not just one like usual.
Let’s be clear……. Multiples are a nightmare for Match Betting. They take a lot more time to find good odds!
Example
Normally we would place our bet on one match:
Scotland v England (Scotland to win)
Because this is a multiple we need to place our bet on at least 2 matches:
Scotland v England (Scotland to win)
&
USA v Spain (Spain to win)
Rather than placing two separate single bets, we select the double option. If it were three matches it would be a treble etc.
So lets imagine we have found a Free Bet that will give us £10 if we register and bet £10 on a multiple bet.
Well nothing much changes from normal, except the method by which we lay at Betfair. At the bookmaker we can make our two selections and the bet slip will give us the option to place a “double’ on these selections.
At Betfair it is slightly different. It is not possible to place a multiple on any selection. instead we need to click on the multiple option

Once we have done that, we will then be presented with a selection of possible events that we can combine to place a multiple lay bet.
In order to check the odds that we will receive on our multiple lay bet at Betfair we first need to enter a stake into the betslip and click “View Odds”.
We then need to decide if the odds are suitable, when compared to the odds being offered at the bookmaker. This bit really becomes trial and error. We need to find a multiple that has good matched odds.
There’s no secret solution, just trial and error!
